INTRODUCTION

Bangladesh considers International Year of Astronomy 2009 as an
unprecedented opportunity for Astronomers as well as ordinary people
to interact and exchange their knowledge of Astronomy in a
global perspective and believes that Bangladesh by her participation
with it will be highly benefited.

We are planning to participate in most of the Programmes as announced
by IYA-2009 Committee. However, our priority would be offered for two
major events which are as follows :

1. To  arrange  observation of  Total Solar Eclipse  on 22 July, 2009.
